Abstract. The conductive cores with a high volume fraction of nickel protective sheath, that are currently in use, provide short-term performance at temperatures up to 1200 ° C. Nickel has high thermal and corrosion resistance, but due to the high rate of nickel diffusion into the conductive copper core volume under melting conditions of the copper core, a severe decrease in its conductive properties is observed.
The composite heat-resistant conductive core design with the introduction of a niobium diffusion barrier between the Cu-Nb conductive core and the Cu-Ni sheath was developed. At the same time, the use of Cu-Nb alloy as a conductive core makes it possible to maintain the integrity of the core up to temperatures of 1250 oС without loss of electrical conductivity.
The article presents data on the experimental verification of the main stages of the technological process for the production of a new type of composite conductive cores.
The results of studies of the conductive cores and wires based on them featuring an increased set of properties related to thermal and corrosion resistance are presented.

COPPER WIRE ROD. NEW GOST R 53803-2025 HAS BEEN PUT INTO EFFECT
V.V. Loparev, Cand. SC. (Engineering), Head of Sector, JSC VNIIKP
Abstract. The article is concerned with the information about the development and introduction of the new standard for copper wire rod. Brief history of the standard development is provided.
The differences between the new standard and the previous standard GOST R 53803-2010 are given. Three groups of wire rod types are identified. The differences in the electrical resistivity requirements for some types of wire rod are noted, including the differences as compared to the requirements for similar wire rod types in foreign standards.
